Custom Canopy Tents Buying Guide

Sizes

The 10 by 10 foot tent is the standard for a booth, a vendor stall or a sideline and fits most event footprints. 10 by 15 and 10 by 20 tents cover a larger display or a food line. 20 by 20 frame tents are for registration areas and hospitality. Large custom canopy tents in the 10 by 20 and 20 by 20 sizes can carry a printed top as well. A 5 by 5 tent suits a tight spot or a kids area. Match the size to the space your event assigns before you order. If you are unsure, custom canopy tents in the 10 x 10 size are the safe choice, since they fit most event footprints.

Frames

Aluminum frames are lighter to carry and do not rust, and they are the right choice for a tent that travels to many events. Steel frames cost less and are heavier, which helps in wind. Hex-leg frames are stronger than square legs. Every frame should be weighted or staked at each leg, and weight bags and stake kits are sold with the tent.

Printing the Canopy

A full-bleed dye-sublimated canopy prints the top and all four valances edge to edge in full color, which is what most buyers want. Custom made canopy tents are printed to order from your artwork. A stock color canopy with a printed valance or a one-side imprint costs less. The valance is the strip at eye level and should carry the logo on all four sides so the tent reads from any direction.

Walls and Packages

A full back wall closes the rear of the tent and gives a large printed backdrop. Half walls give a counter height barrier on the sides. Side walls with windows or doors close the tent for weather or overnight. Tent packages bundle the frame, canopy, walls, a table throw and a carry case at a lower combined price, and they are the simplest way to buy a complete booth.

Is the printed canopy waterproof?

The canopies are polyester with a water-repellent coating and shed rain. They are not meant to be left up in storms, and every frame should be weighted or staked.
